You Will Need: Apples: 1 can (20-24 oz) apple pie/fruit filling or canned apples or 4 fresh(a) apples (1 1/2 lbs) peeled, cored, and sliced into thin wedges. Butter/margarine: 4 tablespoons or 1/2 stick melted (for best results, use butter). Oven Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. 2. Spread apple pie/fruit filling or canned apples (drained) or fresh(a) apples (3 cups) into an 8 or 9 inch baking dish or iron skillet. 3. Combine melted butter with mix until crumbly. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples. 4. Bake 20-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown. Serve warm. If desired, top with ice cream or whipped cream. Microwave Directions: 1. Using an 8 or 9 inch microwave-safe dish, follow steps 2 and 3 above. 2. Microwave uncovered on High 6-8 minutes or until bubbly. Serve warm. Tasty Variations: Caramel Apple Crisp - Microwave 8 candy caramels and 2 teaspoons water/milk 30 seconds; stir. If needed, heat an additional 15 seconds or until melted and pourable. In step 2 above (Oven Directions), drizzle caramel over apples in dish and continue to step 3.
