Oatmeal Preparation: Servings: 1, Water (Cups): 1; Oats (Cups): 1/4, Servings: 2; Water (Cups): 2; Oats (Cups): 1/2, Servings: 6; Water (Cups): 5 1/2; Oats (Cups): 1 1/2. Make On Stovetop: 1. Bring water to a boil. 2. Stir oats in slowly. 3. When oatmeal begins to thicken (about 5 minutes), reduce heat. Simmer uncovered for about 25 minutes (or to desired consistency) stirring occasionally. Note: Steel cut oats are best prepared on the stovetop. Microwaving steel cut oats is not recommended.
