Safe Handling Instructions: This product was prepared from inspected and passed meat and/or poultry. Keep refrigerated or frozen. Thaw in refrigerator or microwave. Keep raw meat and poultry separate from other foods. Wash working surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils and hands after touching raw meat or poultry. Cook thoroughly. Keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard. Cooking Methods: We recommend conventional oven roasting, but your Shady Brook Farms Turkey Breast is also delicious when grilled. Microwaving is not recommended. This turkey breast is brined for your convenience. For additional brining, reduce the salt in your recipe by half. Thawing (Defrosting) Instructions: Do not thaw at room temperature. Place on tray in refrigerator for 1-3 days. Do not open bag until turkey breast is defrosted. Roasting Instructions: 1. Remove refrigerated turkey breast from bag. 2. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. 3. Place turkey breast, breast-side up, on roasting rack Inside a roasting pan. 4. Brush turkey breast with vegetable oil or spray with cooking spray and season as desired. 5. Add one cup of water to the bottom of the roasting pan. This helps keep the turkey breast moist while still allowing browning. 6. Roast at 350 degrees F according to the chart below. If breast is golden-brown before fully cooked, cover with a loose tent of aluminum foil to prevent over-browning. Cut a hole in the foil to view the pop-up timer. 7. Turkey breast is done when the pop-up timer has popped and a meat thermometer, not touching any bone, registers at least 165 degrees F in the deepest part of the breast. (a). 8. Remove from oven and allow the cooked breast to stand for 20 to 30 minutes. This allows the juices to settle and makes carving easier. Estimated Cooking Time(a): 3-5 lbs weight; 2-1/2 - 3 hours roasting time at 350 degrees F; 3 - 4 hours slow cooker time on high; 4 - 5 hours slow cooker time on low, 5-7 lbs weight; 2-1/2 - 3 hours roasting time at 350 degrees F; 4 - 5 hours slow cooker time on high; 5 - 6 hours slow cooker time on low, 7-9 lbs weight; 2-1/2 - 3 hours roasting time at 350 degrees F; 5 - 6 hours slow cooker time on high; 6-7 slow cooker time on low. (a) For food safety, and best dining experience, always cook to minimum of 165 degrees F, and use a meat thermometer to check for proper doneness. Slow Cooked Instructions: 1. Remove refrigerated turkey breast from bag. 2. Place turkey breast, skin side up, in crockpot. The skin of the breast can also be brushed with cooking oil to promote browning and enhance flavor, 1/2 cup of white wine or broth can be used to add moisture and prevent the meat from sticking to the crockpot's surface. 3. Cook according to the chart below. 4. Turkey breast is done when pop-up timer has popped and a meat thermometer, not touching any bone, registers at least 165 degrees F In the deepest part of the breast.(a) (a) For food safety, and best dining experience, always cook to minimum of 165 degrees F, and use a meat thermometer to check for proper doneness.
