What You Need: 1/2 cup cold water. Vegetable oil (enough to fill 1/2 inch deep). Large bowl. Large skillet. How to Prepare Mixing Directions: 1. In a large bowl, combine contents of 1 packet with 1/2 cup water. Stir until well blended. Let stand 10 minutes. 2. Pour vegetable oil into a large skillet (enough to fill skillet 1/2 inch deep). Heat skillet to 350 degrees F. 3. Wet hands and shape batter into balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Cook: Working in batches, lower falafel carefully into hot oil and fry, turning occasionally, until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels. Each packet makes about 12 falafel balls when prepared as directed.
