For moister rice, use 2-1/2 cups water. Microwave: combine 2 cups water and 1 cup rice in a microwave safe container. Optional, add 1 tablespoon butter or margarine and 1 teaspoon salt. Cover and cook on high 5 minutes. Cover and cook on medium (50%) power for 15-20 minutes. Remove from microwave. Let stand covered 5 minutes. Makes 4 servings, 3/4 cup each. * Add 1 tablespoon margarine, butter, or oil and 1 teaspoon salt if desired. For drier rice, use 1-3/4 cups water. For moister rice, use 2-1/2 cups water.
